Jose Ramirez was a big reason why the Guardians won Game 1 of the ALCS 7-3 on Monday night in Tampa and he was a major factor in why they lost Game 2 to the Rays, 3-1 on Tuesday night.

Ramirez’s error in the 4th inning led to 3 unearned runs for the Rays and that’s all that Tampa starter Freddie Peralta and his bullpen would to need to grab a Game 2 victory.
A run scored on the Ramirez error and then with the extra out, the Rays Liam Hicks made Ramirez and the Guards pay as he lined a 2-run single to right for the 3-1 lead.
Offensively at “The Trop” Cleveland struggled. After getting 14 hits in Game 1, Cleveland could only muster 6 hits in Game 2, with the only run scoring on a Chase DeLauter double in the 7th. Jo Adell had a chance to then tie the game with runners at second and third with 2 outs, but he went down swinging to end the inning.

Parker Messick went 5 innings and only gave up 6 hits, but he takes the loss.
The series shifts to Cleveland for Games 3, 4 and 5 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Gavin Williams getting the start in Game 3 Thursday night at 6pm at Progressive Field.
